Meet Matt Bower
I’m a qualified primary school teacher (BA Hons, PGCE) and I’ve taught since 2004. Through M Bower Tutoring I prepare Plymouth children for the 11+ in maths and English, in small weekly groups at YMCA Plymouth on Honicknowle Lane.
Because I still teach, I know what your child is learning in class and where the 11+ asks for more. Families join from Plymouth, Tavistock, Ivybridge, the South Hams, Torpoint and Saltash. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance.

A Year-Long 11+ Plan
Lessons follow a clear plan from late September in Year 5 to the exam the following September, so nothing is rushed and nothing is missed.
Lessons carry on through the summer holidays, when many children slip back.

Year 5: 11+ Group Tuition
Weekly 70-minute maths and English lessons at YMCA Plymouth, with no more than 7 children. £18.50 a lesson.
Year 4: Pre-11+ Programme
A short daily maths and English sheet, posted to you each week. £3.50 a week, anywhere in the UK.
Year 6+: Stretch Programme
Daily practice that keeps able Year 6 children challenged and ready for SATs. £3.50 a week, UK-wide.

In Year 5, from late September, a year before the September exam. Year 4 children can start early with the home-learning programme.
